promise

I will never—and I mean never—use a one-size-fits all approach. I work hard get to know the young people, professionals and organizations that hire me and I work closely with them to design individually tailored experiences.

Rather than rely on a single approach or method, I draw from a myriad of subjects and resources when designing learning experiences for my clients.

I don’t present. I engage. Why? Read John Dewey or see the change your frame philosophy section for more information.

I have loads of energy.
I lose weight by watching you move around. ~a stranger
You make me want to quit being a lump on a log. ~teenage boy

I am genuinely passionate about capacity building, about helping people relate, create, communicate and collaborate and build stronger communities—and I care so much that the people I work with can’t help but to invest, take risks, and be compelled to learn something of consequence.

The teacher is not one who has lived and the student one who is going to live, but that both are living now, in the present, that it should be fresh life meeting fresh life. ~Mary Parker Follett
I don’t believe in keeping a button-upped distance from my clients and I won’t check my heart at the door. I simply care too much. I will take risks with you. I will play with you. And I will learn with you.

I’m not afraid to change the rules of an activity. In fact, some of the most powerful learning experiences for my clients have emerged from activities that they themselves have re-imagined.

While I may adjust an activity to meet your group’s goals (see above), you’ll always know when you can eat lunch. I provide the structure (frame!) and process knowledge that will support you to gain new skills and perspectives.
